AIDEEN O'LEARY

Aideen joined the CAPRN board in January 2025, bringing an abundance of passion and skills to the table. A Cork native, she has lived in 7 countries and travelled to over 50. In addition to speaking French and Spanish, Aideen has a post graduate in Finance and an MBA in Leadership and Sustainability. She has a wealth of professional experience across sectors and geographies, including 6 years working in the development sector in Africa and a background in international banking.

Aideen was appointed CEO of educational charity EIL Intercultural Learning (EIL / AFS Ireland) in January 2024 and has overseen a growth in income and moved the organisation to profitability. Prior to joining EIL, Aideen oversaw Irish charity Bóthar through a significant crisis, and was instrumental in implementing robust governance and financial controls, clean accounts, and leading the organisation back to a position of being able to actively fundraise.

Aideen’s skills in governance and financial sustainability are underpinned by a passion for the community sector, and a strong belief that equity and equality are core to improving the world for everyone. She is excited to work with CAPRN and continue the decades long mission of improving lives across Cork communities.
