OONAGH MAHER
Oonagh Maher is a resident of Cork for 37 years now, though originally from Mullingar. She is a recently retired Adult Guidance Counsellor having worked for 16 years in Cork city with CETB, assisting adults with access to second chance education and providing pathways to training & work. Oonagh began her career as a secondary school teacher, working in Dublin and Navan, teaching Irish and English. She also served 16 years in the Defence forces in Dublin, The Curragh and Collins Barracks Cork, before retiring as a Captain. She has served overseas with UNIFIL.
Oonagh has volunteered as a literacy tutor, career coach and as chairperson on a primary school Board of Management.
